OHC hosted a community event on Injury Prevention for young dancers, during which former ballerina and physiotherapist, Dr Katherine Kulp led a group of dancers through a screening and functional movement assessment to help them identify areas in need of improvement.
Drawing from emerging research on injury risk and prevention, as well as her own clinical expertise, Katherine offered systematic tools to identify and then address muscle imbalances in strength and flexibility as well as motor control. Dancers left with a better understanding of how to help reduce their risk of injury, as well as tools to improve their technique.
