Prostate Cancer Symptoms

The following symptoms could be red flags, and should be checked by a urologist, to monitor prostate health

  1. Changes in Urination
    • Increased frequency, especially at night (nocturia).
    • Difficulty starting or stopping urination.
    • Weak or interrupted urine flow.
    • Pain or burning sensation during urination.
  2. Blood in Urine or Semen
    • Presence of blood in urine (hematuria) or semen, which can be concerning.
  3. Pain in the Pelvic Area
    • Persistent pain in the lower back, hips, or pelvis may indicate prostate issues.
  4. Erectile Dysfunction
    • New or worsening difficulties with erections may be associated with prostate health.
  5. Unexplained Weight Loss
    • Significant, unexplained weight loss can signal various health issues, including cancer.
  6. Fatigue
    • Persistent fatigue or weakness that doesn’t improve with rest may need further evaluation.
  7. Bone Pain
    • Pain in the bones, particularly in the back or hips, can indicate cancer spread.
  8. Lumps or Swelling
    • Noticeable lumps or swelling in the testicles or around the prostate area.

If any of these symptoms are persistent or worsening, it’s essential to consult a healthcare provider for evaluation. Early detection and diagnosis can significantly improve treatment outcomes for prostate cancer. Regular screenings are recommended for men over 50 or those at higher risk.
